  • Eid Ul-Adha 2026 Announcement

    Assalamu alaikum wa rahmatullah wa barakatuh,

    Dear brothers and sisters in Islam,

    We are pleased to announce that we shall be celebrate Eid ul-Adha on Wednesday 27th May 2026.

    There will be three Eid prayers at 08:30, 09:30 and 10:30.

    The ladies area will also be open for them to attend Eid salahs.

    It is highly recommended to do as many good deeds as possible during these blessed days and nights, including fasting, especially on the day of Arafah (Tuesday 26th May 2026).

    Attendees are reminded to adhere to the following conditions for Eid Salah arrangements:

    • At the Masjid: Please follow the instructions of the marshals
    • Parking: Parking facilities are limited. PLEASE DO NOT park on double yellow lines or the private side street. Please consider using The Beacon Parking (BN21 3NW) from 08:00 (£1.80 for 1 hour, £3.40 for 2 hours) which is a short walk away from the mosque.
    • Wudu: Please perform wudu at home
    • Do not congregate inside and outside the masjid after Eid salahs. It is important to prepare for the next group. Please leave the masjid promptly following the first salah
    • Do not congregate outside in front of the houses as we do not want the neighbours to be disturbed.

    Please donate generously to keep our Mosque running and functioning for our community.

    May Allah accept all our good deeds and make this sacred period an opportunity for repentance, mutual forgiveness and soul purification.

  • Community & School Partnership Highlight

    We were delighted to recently be visited by Beads School and a chance to meet with members of the school leadership and chaplaincy team. It was a very positive and encouraging meeting, highlighting the school’s commitment to supporting students of all faiths and backgrounds.

    One of the most impressive aspects of the visit was learning about the thoughtful steps the school has taken to support its Muslim students. The school has made arrangements to allow students to fulfil their Islamic religious duties on Fridays by attending Jummah (Friday prayers), as well as being mindful and supportive during the holy month of Ramadan. These efforts demonstrate a genuine commitment to inclusion, respect, and understanding within the school community.

    This collaboration reflects a strong spirit of partnership and mutual respect between the school and the local Muslim community.

    The embracing atmosphere from the school and the willingness of staff and the chaplaincy team to support students in practising their faith is truly admirable. It sets a positive example of how schools and community organisations can work together to create an inclusive and supportive environment for young people.

    We look forward to continuing to build this relationship and exploring further opportunities for collaboration between Beads School and Eastbourne Mosque in the future, helping to provide meaningful experiences and support for students.

    It was a pleasure to capture a few photographs during the visit, including one slightly “sneaky” moment which we are pleased to share as part of this positive partnership.

    Together, through cooperation and understanding, we can continue to strengthen community ties and support the next generation.

  • Eastbourne Mosque Open Day

    Dear Eastbourne Community,

    We invite you to our upcoming Eastbourne Mosque Open Day on Saturday 2nd November 2024 from 11:00 to 15:00 at Eastbourne Mosque (4a Ashford Square, Eastbourne, BN21 3TX).

    This event aims to foster understanding and appreciation of our local Muslim community, offering a unique opportunity to learn about Islamic culture, traditions, and practices. The day will feature guided tours, questions & answers, informative sessions, live prayer and refreshments.

    As this is a place of worship, we kindly request that all attendees dress modestly. Additionally, please note that males and females will be segregated.

    If there are any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact us.

  • Monthly Community Get Together

    Respected Brothers and Sisters in Islam,

    It is with great joy that we extend our heartfelt invitation to you for the forthcoming second instalment of our monthly gathering, scheduled to take place this Saturday 6th December. During this session, we will continue our comprehensive discussion on the rich history of the sacred land and Al Aqsa.

    We kindly urge you to seize this opportunity to engage in meaningful social interactions with fellow members of our community. Commencing at 7:00 PM, we encourage early attendance, and you are more than welcome to bring and share refreshments and delectable food.

    This monthly congregation serves as a platform to foster unity and fortify the bonds within our community. We extend a particularly warm welcome to our revert brothers and sisters, encouraging them to join us and become integral members of our community.

    Eastbourne Mosque would like to invite you to our first outdoor Eid in the Park event, celebrating Eid Ul-Adha on Wednesday 28th June 2023 from 09:00am at Princess Park, Channel View Road, Eastbourne. Below is a map for finding Princess Park. The postcode is BN22 7LL for your satnav.

    Things to consider

    • Please arrive promptly in time for Salah at 9AM
    • Please me mindful and respectful of the park, cleaning up any mess or litter you see.
    • Please always be respectful of other users of the park.
    • Car parking spaces may be limited since it’s the The 2023 Rothesay International Eastbourne tennis tournament, so please come early, if you can, walk in or car pool where possible.
      • Alternatively, you can use the Park & Display car park opposite Princess Park. Blue badge holders can park there for free.
    • Should you require any assistance, please approach one of our volunteers wearing a fluorescent hi-vis vest whom will be happy to help.
    • There are dedicated drop-off points for the elderly and people with disabilities that may require additional help.
    • Toilets are available near The Perch Cafe

  • COVID-19 – Remote Activities

    Assalamu alaikum wa rahmatullah wa barakatuh brothers and sisters in Islam,

    In light of the current closure of the mosque in view of the current events and unprecedented situation we are taking extra steps to make sure we can reach everyone and that you can remain to be connected with your mosque.

    Activities

    We are pleased to annunce that to everyone that all of our activities (i.e. Arabic adult classes, Seerah classes, Tafseer classes, Tajweed classes and our youth talks) will continue to go ahead via ZOOM.

    You can tune in through your computer/phone/tablet and join in our classes wherever you are, ensuring we maintain appropriate social distancing but also a link with your local community.

    We will aim to circulate the Meeting ID via social media (Facebook/Instagram/WhatsApp & Twitter inshaAllah very soon) shortly before the normal start times.

    May Allah swt protect us and see us through these difficult times.

  • Temporary Mosque Closure – COVID-19

    Assalamwalaikoum Brothers and Sisters in Islam,

    We all know that the Coronavirus (COVID-19) is very serious, more people are becoming infected and death toll is rising nationally.

    EICC has taken advice and has followed developments in UK and overseas very closely. We have taken on board the views of our community, our management group our Imam and the latest government guidance.

    We thank our community for expressing their opinions and views during the consultation period. Your input has been very helpful as the closure of our mosque is the most difficult decision. It’s a decision that needs religious clarity and courage.

    After careful consideration of: all the facts, risks and your opinions, EICC has taken the decision to temporerily close the mosque with immediate effect from tonight until further notice.

    We ask our community to pray at home from Fajr tomorrow.

    We pray that Allah swt accepts our decision and bless us all with His mercy.

    Let us take this time to take care of ourselves and community during this difficult period Self-isolate yourselves if needed and look after our families our community. Please remember our community in your prayer and duas.
