The Eastbourne Faith Forum is holding its annual Interfaith Event on 20.11.13 at 7 pm at the Congress Suite, Congress Theatre, Eastbourne.
The title of the evening is ‘Contrary to Popular Belief’ which aims to clarify misconceptions.

Several religions will be represented and our Imam will be one of the speakers representing Islam.

Everybody is invited. Please come along and support this event.

In The Name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful. All praise and thanks are due to Allah, and peace and blessings be upon His Messenger. Assalamu Alaikum waRahmatullah WBR.

1. Blessed Ramadan: “When the month of Ramadan comes, the gates of Paradise are opened and the gates of the Hellfire are closed, and the devils are chained.” (Reported by al-Bukhari) The Prophet (PBUH) has called this month – a blessed month and a great month.

2. Mosque Bank Accounts: Allah swt has guided the bank to unblock the accounts of His House and Lloyds Bank will compensate the Mosque for the inconvenience. Please do not cancel your direct debit. Allah promises the recompense of seven hundred times of what a believer spends for His sake (maintenance of His House..Our Masjid). Narrated by al-Bukhaari, 5073; Muslim, 993. And Allaah is the Source of Strength.

3. Thank you for your donation. The Mosque Management Committee urges the community to donate money for water, electricity and salaries. Join us to maintain our mosque for prayer and free education of our children. Allah SWT will shade those who give in charity. Your generous donation will be spent on maintaining the House of Allah. InshaAllah the new mosque will be realised also.

4. Unauthorised Meetings in the mosque are not allowed. The mosque is the place we purify ourselves spiritually. The Mosque belongs to everybody for prayer and learning. “The mosques of Allah shall be visited and maintained by such as believe in Allah and the Last Day, establish regular prayers, and practice regular charity, and fear none (at all) except Allah (Quran Chapter 9 Verse 18).
5. The Trustees are the legal guardians of the mosque. The Mosque is legally and lawfully Registered Charitable Company 1152022. We pray to Allah to make us of those who are able to benefit from this Ramadan and reap the benefits and rewards of this blessed month (Ameen)

EID 2012

Assalam walaikoum brothers and sisters in Islam.

Welcome to our masjid on this day of celebration, especially those who are new to Eastbourne and those who have recently embraced Islam. We extend our brotherhood and love to you. May you find peace, fulfilment and piety in Islam. I would like to talk to you about the future of our masjid.

For those who do not know, the Council has given us planning permission to rebuild our mosque. We have just had our second Live TV Appeal and in total our funds are rising up to £300,000 InshaAllah. This is a tremendous achievement and you should be proud of this. All of us should be proud. Achievements like this come our way only because we have good Muslims here and elsewhere who care about our religion and our masjid.

We are a success story but let me remind you Success is never final. Failure is never fatal. It is courage that counts. It is courage that helps us to build on success and rise from failure. We need your courage to push for a better Masjid for our next generation, you need the courage to step forward and lend a hand to realise our dream. May Allah guide us to use this courage to safeguard the future of Islam in Eastbourne. We need each and every one of us to show the courage to start the building soon.

Brothers and Sisters, The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams. Our dream is to have a safe mosque, better facilities for our children to be educated in Islam, better facilities, more teachers, better wadu facilities and excellent amenities for our ladies. This is our dream, your dream and everybody’s dream. Show courage because Boldness has genius, power, and magic of Allah in it.” It is this boldness, this courage that will help us to start the building InshaAllah next year. Courage is doing what you’re afraid to do. There can be no courage unless you’re scared. I hope you are a little bit scared by what I am saying because this will awaken the courage in you InshaAllah. Let us today have a great dream and start digging the foundation of our Masjid next year. Let us have faith in Allah the ultimate provider. If you think we are  building castles in the air, then you must begin your work to put the foundations under them.

Resilience is what our community has. The islamic community here has the ability to keep going even when things get tough and we will see the job through. With your help and Allah’s support, we will get there. Our community has many talented people in all kinds of professions and skills. We need you to be an active member, come forward and offer your skills to the mosque and to our local community. Without you, we are weaker, together we can go forward confidently and fulfil our dream.

As we reach the conclusion of this holy month of Ramadan, I would like to wish you all a heartfelt, happy and blessed Eid. May you celebrate and enjoy this auspicious day with your family, friends and loved ones, and take forward the positive intentions and good faith you have practiced over the last 30 days.

Let me also take this opportunity to thank you all for the sincere support and generosity you have shown to our brothers and sisters suffering in Syria and other countries as well as those vulnerable communities in the UK. May Allah accept and reward your kindness and good deeds. I pray that you continue to do all that you can to help our community and our mosque.

Eastbourne Mosque aims to rebuild our present mosque to provide better facilities for prayer, teaching our children, improving facilities for our ladies and ensuring the continuity of Islam in Eastbourne. Our mosque plays an important part in the wider community. The building is antiquated and unsafe. We urgently need to have a safe new building.

We are very grateful to all brothers and sisters who have contributed so far and continue to support our fundraising. Our last TV appeal was successful and so far we have raised £260,000. Our target is to raise £600,000

Eastbourne Mosque will be holding another LIVE TV APPEAL ON ATN BANGLA TV UK on Sunday 12.8.12 from Asr to Fajr. Please tell your friends, relatives and all Muslims around the world to watch our appeal, to call the studio to demonstrate your support and donate generously. This is the Holy Month of Ramadan and all donations made with sincerity for the sake of Allah is multiplied 700 times. From tomorrow inshallah the Holy month of Ramadan will be commencing.

Taraweeh prayer will be starting from today at 22:45.

May Allah accept our fasting, prayers and all our good deeds.

Please note there will be a fund raising meeting on Sunday 10.6.12 after Zuhr prayer at the mosque. It is important that all members attend as we need to work towards the LIVE TV APPEAL during Ramadan. We look forward to seeing you there..

It was decided by the fund raising group that there will be a fundraising group meeting on the FIRST Sunday of every month in the mosque after Zuhr prayer. There will also be adhoc meeting on Friday after Jummah prayer. Please keep in touch so that you are in the know and aware of all our activities.

OUR NEXT MAJOR FUND RAISING EVENT

There will be a charity dinner at Willingdon Community Centre, Hampden Park on 27.5.12.  after Zuhr. Delicious food donated free of charge by our local restaurants and individuals. Entrance fee is a very modest £15 per head. Please bring all your relatives, friends and families to make this a genuinely family occasion for a wonderful cause. This is a great opportunity to please Allah and enjoy a family occasion. We look forward to seeing you there and to raising money for our new mosque.

We need the help and cooperation of the whole community to build our mosque. So, please come along and give us a hand. Play your part to make it happen InshaAllah. Please get the network going and email/text your contacts to donate generously.

It was also decided that we will be holding another live appeal on ATN
BANGLA TV CHANNEL 827 during Ramadan. It will cost 6000 pounds. Contributions towards this fee for ATN is most welcome. Please give your contributions to Sheriff Koomar, Treasurer..

Dear brothers and sister in Islam,

We just wanted to update everyone with regards to our campaign to raise money for the building of our new mosque.

To date, mashAllah, we have just over £130,000 and just under £750 of online donations from all over the world.

May Allah reward you all for your generosity.

As most of you know that Eastbourne Council has granted us planning permission to build a new mosque  in Eastbourne. We are delighted that the community has been rewarded with the chance to establish a historical mosque in Eastbourne. We thank everybody for their help, effort and support especially the Eastbourne Faith Forum in particular Martyn Relf and Clive Glenister. The Islamic community is very grateful to the members of the Faith Forum. A special thank you goes to our architect David Hutchison who has done a fabulous job.

I urge everybody to renew our relationship with our mosque and spend more time at the mosque.

The real hard work starts now and the Executive Committee is now formulating a strategy with the community to raise sufficient funds to realise our new mosque. This is a unique opportunity to donate generously towards the House of  Allah and I know you will grab this opportunity with great joy, prayer and hope.

May Allah make it easy for allof us to contribute to this noble cause.
