COVID-19 Update: Immediate Closure of Mosque

VERY IMPORTANT NOTICE

Information has been made available to EICC that a member of our community has been attending prayers in the mosque while members of his family have tested positive for Covid-19.

It is deeply regrettable that this has happened.

EICC has taken swift action in establishing the reliability of this information. Consequently, the mosque is closed from tonight as a precautionary measure until further notice.

There will be no facility for Jummah tomorrow and no daily prayers.

EICC appeals to the community to stay away from the mosque until further notice

EICC advises any member of our community who may be affected showing signs of infection or worried or may have been in contact with the person concerned to contact NHS Test and Trace (Telephone 119). You must self-isolate for at least 10 days. Anyone else in your household must self-isolate for 14 days from when you started having symptoms.

EICC thank the community for your cooperation and understanding

Jazakhallah khair

COVID-19 Update: Re-Opening of our mosque

Assalamu alaikum wa rahmatullah wa barakatuh brothers and sisters in Islam,

The EICC SG group met to discuss the possibility of opening the mosque.

All of us want the mosque open but we face organisation problems and have become more aware of the risk and difficulties of controlling the situation. It must also be said that some people don’t want the mosque open too soon.

It appears that we should wait a bit longer rather than rushing with the re-opening

So, although we would want our mosque to be open, reluctantly the mosque will stay closed as the risks are very high and we have been unable to appoint a COVID-19 officer nor recruit enough volunteers to manage the social distancing.

The decision at the moment is the mosque will stay closed until further notice and staff will continue to be on furlough.

Don’t forget, you can still continue to support our Mosque through donating.

May Allah guide us on the right path during these difficult times.

Jazak Allahu khayran
