    May 2018 Update

Assalamwalaikoum brothers and sisters in Islam,

This is our last jummah here and the next one will be in our new mosque. We thank the management of this community hall and the community around here in Langney for accommodating us and enabling us to fulfil our religious duty.

The first taraweeh will be the first time the entire community will be entering the mosque in sha Allah. It is a moment of great happiness. There will be volunteers guiding people around the wudu area and the way to enter the mosque from the front main door.

It is important that we put our shoes and sandals in the shoe racks and keep our front entrance clean and tidy. Please dispose of tissues in the bins. There may be problem with the sewage connection which has been delayed in the men section. For the ladies, there is no problem

The first iftar is very symbolic and we want to invite the whole community to come and break their fast together. Iftar will be in two stages. After azaan there will be water, milk, dates, fruits to break our fast. After Maghreb prayer, there will be food. Please stay for some food. As usual, the food is paid by groups of volunteers and no donation money will be used for this event.

The carpet will be covered with tarpaulin to ensure the mosque does not get dirty, and smell of food. It is important that we keep all food items and drinks on the tarpaulin. We do not want to waste food and therefore we urge those serving food to be careful and do not overload the plates. By all means people can have second helpings.

In order to reduce waste, we will not be providing water for Taraweeh. We ask people to bring their own bottle and water.

Unfortunately, the car park will not be available and we urge everybody to park away from the mosque. Please make sure there is no congestion around the mosque and reduce the noise level so that the neighbours are not disturbed.

We are pleased to share with you that Sr Fozia Malik is coordinating the ladies section. We look forward to more ladies and girls engaging with the mosque to make it a good community centre.

Finally, we have our building completed but building only does not make a mosque. We want our community to come and pray in it. It is built as a centre for prayer, for education and for social activities.

We thank everybody, the local, national and international community who have donated, helped, worked tirelessly behind the scenes, the jummah team, the ladies and the children who have collected funds, to make things happen and realise our mosque by the grace of Allah.

We look forward to welcoming you all in the new mosque In sha Allah.

    Jazakom Allah khair,

  • April 2018 Update

Assalamwalaikoum brothers and sisters in Islam,

We have very good news to share with you and the entire community.

First good news is that we have raised enough money to complete Phase 1 of the construction. Phase 1 is the mosque is ready for prayer and the entire community has access to the new mosque.

The local and international Muslim community have been generous and your donations for Allah’s sake have made everything possible. We thank Almighty Allah for helping us all to build His House in Eastbourne. “Whosoever builds for Allah a mosque, Allah will reward him similar to it in paradise.” (Bukhari) inShaAllah.

“Whosoever shares in building a mosque for Allah, even if it is as small as a bird’s nest, Allah (S.W.T.) will build for him a house in Paradise.” (Ahmad) inShaAllah. It is sadaqua jariya (on going charity).

The second good news is that we will have some money left over which will help us run the mosque for few months. The running costs of the mosque will be substantial and we look forward to your continued donations inshaAllah. Please give generously so that we can maintain the mosque and provide new services.

We have plans for Phase 2:

We are in negotiation with British Rail to purchase the land next to the railway. InShaAllah this will provide valuable and secure outdoor space for our children and for other outdoor functions.

InSha Allah we also intend to build a third floor to create more rooms for more activities

We have InShaAllah ambitious plans to make the mosque self sufficient by generating income and by providing religious, social and educational initiatives. For these items we will make special appeals to raise the necessary funds.

Finally, we are delighted to announce the mosque will be ready for Ramadan. The first taraweeh will be in the mosque inshaAllah. As we all know, mosque is where Allah (subhana wa tala) is glorified, praised and remembered. Unite the Community and Encourage brotherhood: Establishes large gatherings of Muslims. InShaAllah, we look forward to everyone breaking their fast together in Ramadan at the mosque.

We urge the community to come forward and fill the mosque every day and night to make this unique Ramadan 2018 a time to be remembered for ever in the history of our mosque InShaAllah.

    New Mosque
MaA sha Aallah, the construction of the mosque has progressed very well and In sha Allah, we will be praying in our new mosque before Ramadan. The building is close to completion and we thank all the people who have contributed generously and made it possible to have a secure mosque for the people of Eastbourne. Security measures have incurred extra costs. May Allah reward all the donors and helpers and all their families with a House in Jannah.

We thank the community for being patient and the Groups that have been working behind the scene to ensure planning, construction and the smooth development of the mosque.

The vision is to In sha Allah develop the mosque into a vibrant centre with religious, educational and social activities for the community. There will be consultation (Mashwara) and community involvement to ensure we altogether move forward as a strong united Muslim community.

    Education
In sha Allah,Masjid education will be developed for adults and children. Details to follow In sha Allah.

    Maintenance of the Mosque
It is our duty to ensure the mosque is maintained and used with care. Maintenance is costly and we appeal to the community for a regular donation through Direct Debit In sha Allah. It is your donations and income generation initiatives that will ensure we continue to provide existing and new services.

    Taraweeh Prayer
Ramadan timetable is being prepared and will be available soon. In sha Allah, there will be short talks /workshops before Maghrib during the weekends about fasting etiquette and Ramadan Matters In sha Allah. Iftar will be celebrated in the Masjid and a list will be available for brothers and sisters who wish to contribute. Isha Salat followed by Taraweeh prayer will start at 11.00pm and we encourage all brothers and sisters to attend so that we can pray Taraweeh together as one community in our new mosque. However, arrangements are being made to have a second Taraweeh prayer for those who are working late at night.

    Eid Prayer
We aim to continue to hold the Eid Party In sha Allah, after the Eid prayer. We will need volunteers as usual. Details will be announced nearer the time.

    Volunteers
Volunteers are needed for all various activities including:

    Dawah
Presenting Islam to the wider community (open days, inviting neighbours to the masjid and so on)

    Education
Supporting the youths in various ways, organising activities and so on

    Maintaining the Masjid
Cleaning, Car Park and so on. Further Consultation will be on-going and we welcome your suggestion.

  • New Mosque April 2018 Update

    New Mosque April 2018 Update

Assalamu alaikum wa rahmatullah wa barakatuh,

Dear brothers and sisters in Islam,

Firstly, it is a great pleasure in updating you with what has been happening since our last update. We are very excited and pleased to announce that finally the carpets are being fitted in with no further delays. As you will see from the pictures below, considerable amount of work has been accomplished. Downstairs area as well as the stairways have their carpets fitted and now work has started upstairs to complete all the remaining carpeting.

We are also pleased to announce the wudu area and toilets are also completed and are fully functional. As you will notice in the pictures the high level of quality and detail that has been put in to complete this section of the Mosque.

Brothers and Sisters, we are not far from entering our new Mosque to start praying. However, unfortunately, we are still short of funds which are imminent in order to enter the mosque in time for Ramadan.

We acknowledge that everyone has been and is being very generous for the cause of Allah and helping in completing our mosque. We urge you all to be just that extra bit in your willingness to give for the sake of Allah swt so we can all benefit from the gains achieved.

Brothers and Sisters none of this again would have been possible without your continuous support and kind, generous donations. We are nearly there and still in need of your generous contributions to complete our Mosque, so please kindly help however you can and donate as much as you can. At the time of writing this update, we have roughly £66,100 remaining for us to raise. Coming together is a beginning, keeping together is progress and working together is success.

Please admire the pictures below and ponder where we were and how far we have come.

May Allah swt bless you all for your hard work and generous donations, may Allah accept all our good intentions and grant us our house in Jannah. Ameen

    Jazākum Allāh Khayran
