  • New Mosque Building – Update

    Assalamwalaikoum Brothers and Sisters in Islam.

    Ramadan has been a great opportunity to be generous and donate for Allah’s sake.InshAllah, all donations will be multiplied several times.

    As usual, you have been fantastic by supporting our new mosque building appeal. The pledges are still coming but we have been able to collect £31,000 worth of pledges.

    Thank you for this generous pledges and InshAllah we look forward to further donations and pledges.

    May Allah guide us on the right path for building His House..

  • New Mosque Fund Appeal

    Dear Brothers and Sisters in Islam,

    Assalamwalaikoum WRB.

    RAMADAN MUBARAK
    Ramadan is nearly here and we all look forward to a pious month feeling closer to Allah and focus on good deeds.

    • There will be two taraweeh session. The second one starting at 1.15 am for our brothers who work late shifts.
    • Everybody is welcome to the mosque for Iftar. There will be a list on the board for those who are willing to provide food for Iftar. Please put your name and telephone number.

    CAR PARK
    The car park is for those who come to the mosque to pray. Please do not use it for long term parking which will be clamped. We are exploring putting barriers around the car park and provide a key at a small cost for those who wish to use our car park.

    NEW MOSQUE
    Since the mosque gathers and unites Muslims, Allah grants unrivalled rewards for its building which is inspired by the holy Qur’an and hadeeths of the prophet PBUH. Allah will build a house in Jannah for those who help build His House on earth. InshaAllah.
    After extensive discussions, we are confident that the new mosque can be built for £500,000. We have around £300,000 with pledges. We need to raise another £200,000. Roughly, the mosque needs a donation of £1000 per head/family. We appeal to you to donate generously during the month of Ramadan and beyond so that the mosque can be built. Make your pledges now. We will also be collecting funds from other mosques.
    Contractors will only sign the contract if we have sufficient funds or pledges. So, please come forward, join in and invest in Allah’s House.
    If we have sufficient pledges/donations, construction could start after Ramadan InshaAllah. We can do it together. Let us unite our efforts to provide a mosque for the future, for our children and for Islam in Eastbourne. Thank you..

  • INTERFAITH EVENT 20.11.13 AT 7PM

    The Eastbourne Faith Forum is holding its annual Interfaith Event on 20.11.13 at 7 pm at the Congress Suite, Congress Theatre, Eastbourne.
    The title of the evening is ‘Contrary to Popular Belief’ which aims to clarify misconceptions.

    Several religions will be represented and our Imam will be one of the speakers representing Islam.

    Everybody is invited. Please come along and support this event.

    In The Name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful. All praise and thanks are due to Allah, and peace and blessings be upon His Messenger. Assalamu Alaikum waRahmatullah WBR.

    1. Blessed Ramadan: “When the month of Ramadan comes, the gates of Paradise are opened and the gates of the Hellfire are closed, and the devils are chained.” (Reported by al-Bukhari) The Prophet (PBUH) has called this month – a blessed month and a great month.

    2. Mosque Bank Accounts: Allah swt has guided the bank to unblock the accounts of His House and Lloyds Bank will compensate the Mosque for the inconvenience. Please do not cancel your direct debit. Allah promises the recompense of seven hundred times of what a believer spends for His sake (maintenance of His House..Our Masjid). Narrated by al-Bukhaari, 5073; Muslim, 993. And Allaah is the Source of Strength.

    3. Thank you for your donation. The Mosque Management Committee urges the community to donate money for water, electricity and salaries. Join us to maintain our mosque for prayer and free education of our children. Allah SWT will shade those who give in charity. Your generous donation will be spent on maintaining the House of Allah. InshaAllah the new mosque will be realised also.

    4. Unauthorised Meetings in the mosque are not allowed. The mosque is the place we purify ourselves spiritually. The Mosque belongs to everybody for prayer and learning. “The mosques of Allah shall be visited and maintained by such as believe in Allah and the Last Day, establish regular prayers, and practice regular charity, and fear none (at all) except Allah (Quran Chapter 9 Verse 18).
    5. The Trustees are the legal guardians of the mosque. The Mosque is legally and lawfully Registered Charitable Company 1152022. We pray to Allah to make us of those who are able to benefit from this Ramadan and reap the benefits and rewards of this blessed month (Ameen)

  • PROGRESS

    GOOD NEWS

    The New Management Committee had its first meeting. It was a very good start and will work positively to ensure our new mosque building is realised. The Trustees will ensure our mosque is safeguarded and be a beacon of collaboration as it has been for the last 15 years.

    FIRE SAFETY: The fire officers have inspected the building and fitted new fire detectors. Exits are sufficient and Br Hamid is working on a drawing to show exits. All exits should be open during Jummah

    EICC: The Trustees are liable for any accidents, damages, building problems, neighbour disputes, and legal action against asbestos, highways, and compensation claims. This means the Trustees are personally responsible for all these risks. In order to eliminate all these possible risks, EICC has been converted into a CHARITABLE Limited Company limiting Trustees to only £10 liability. The aims and objectives of EICC remain the same. EICC is a Registered Charity No: 1152022

    New Mosque Building: The architect is working on suggested amendments. We will prepare for building regulations, implementation of legal agreements with ESCC and obtain estimates from building contractors.

    EID PARTY: This will be held in the mosque this year. Sister Shameem is the organiser. Help needed please.

  • FUNDRAISING MEETING 17.3.13

    Dear Brothers and Sisters in Islam,

    The next meeting of the Fundraising Group will be on 17.3.13 after Zuhr prayer in the mosque. The agenda is Fund Collection From Other Mosques.

    The community wants to see progress and urges everybody to concentrate on how we can raise funds so that the building can start. Key people willing to help raise funds in other mosques will be given a letter of authorisation so that funds are collected responsibly. Those interested to go round the country to collect funds, please bring a passport size photograph to be appended to the letter from the Chairman.

    As you know, we have collected 285,000 pounds so far and we need to have at least 350,000 to start the building. InshaAllah, with the effort of the community we will get there soon. I am also attaching our planning consent confirmed by the Eastbourne Borough Council.

    The Management Committee would like to thank the entire community for working hard and for the donations. May Allah build a House in Jannah for all of us InshaAllah.

  • EID ANNOUNCEMENT BY CHAIRMAN OF THE MOSQUE

    EID 2012

    Assalam walaikoum brothers and sisters in Islam.

    Welcome to our masjid on this day of celebration, especially those who are new to Eastbourne and those who have recently embraced Islam. We extend our brotherhood and love to you. May you find peace, fulfilment and piety in Islam. I would like to talk to you about the future of our masjid.

    For those who do not know, the Council has given us planning permission to rebuild our mosque. We have just had our second Live TV Appeal and in total our funds are rising up to £300,000 InshaAllah. This is a tremendous achievement and you should be proud of this. All of us should be proud. Achievements like this come our way only because we have good Muslims here and elsewhere who care about our religion and our masjid.

    We are a success story but let me remind you Success is never final. Failure is never fatal. It is courage that counts. It is courage that helps us to build on success and rise from failure. We need your courage to push for a better Masjid for our next generation, you need the courage to step forward and lend a hand to realise our dream. May Allah guide us to use this courage to safeguard the future of Islam in Eastbourne. We need each and every one of us to show the courage to start the building soon.

    Brothers and Sisters, The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams. Our dream is to have a safe mosque, better facilities for our children to be educated in Islam, better facilities, more teachers, better wadu facilities and excellent amenities for our ladies. This is our dream, your dream and everybody’s dream. Show courage because Boldness has genius, power, and magic of Allah in it.” It is this boldness, this courage that will help us to start the building InshaAllah next year. Courage is doing what you’re afraid to do. There can be no courage unless you’re scared. I hope you are a little bit scared by what I am saying because this will awaken the courage in you InshaAllah. Let us today have a great dream and start digging the foundation of our Masjid next year. Let us have faith in Allah the ultimate provider. If you think we are  building castles in the air, then you must begin your work to put the foundations under them.

    Resilience is what our community has. The islamic community here has the ability to keep going even when things get tough and we will see the job through. With your help and Allah’s support, we will get there. Our community has many talented people in all kinds of professions and skills. We need you to be an active member, come forward and offer your skills to the mosque and to our local community. Without you, we are weaker, together we can go forward confidently and fulfil our dream.

    As we reach the conclusion of this holy month of Ramadan, I would like to wish you all a heartfelt, happy and blessed Eid. May you celebrate and enjoy this auspicious day with your family, friends and loved ones, and take forward the positive intentions and good faith you have practiced over the last 30 days.

    Let me also take this opportunity to thank you all for the sincere support and generosity you have shown to our brothers and sisters suffering in Syria and other countries as well as those vulnerable communities in the UK. May Allah accept and reward your kindness and good deeds. I pray that you continue to do all that you can to help our community and our mosque.
